Champions Again January 17-18, 2014

This was a tough weekend for the RC Tigers with wins and losses.  Ultimately, both 5th and 6th grade RC Tigers Teams walked away Champs.  Congratulations once again to the Teams.  Hard work and determination pays off.

Congratulations to the RC Tigers for taking home the Championship Trophy at the Battle of the Best Tournament.  January 3-4, 2015.  What an awesome accomplishment!

Welcome to the New RC Tigers Blog.

Rancho Cucamonga Tigers is a girls youth basketball club.  We are a 501(c)3, non-profit organization.  This youth basketball program represents female athletes in 5^th grade – high school from the Inland Empire. At a time of shrinking budgets for school sports programs, it is critical to get girls active at a young age because girls who are active in sports during adolescence and your adulthood are more likely to attend college, which can lead to broader career opportunities and financial stability.  Children and adolescents who pursue sports activities have been shown to exhibit more active brain function, better concentration levels and classroom behavior and higher self-esteem than their less-active counterparts. Understandably, all of these factors seem to support better academic performance.  We must continually strive to improve the access and opportunity afforded to our daughters, granddaughters, sisters, and nieces and by doing so, promote a happier, healthier and more confident generation of girls who will go on to become strong and successful women in all walks of life. 

We practice twice a week and participate in two tournaments a month, possibly more.  We keep practices local to the Rancho Cucamonga area.  We also participate in a conditioning program once a week for members of the program who are interested.

It is our goal to keep out of pocket costs for families to a minimum in order to keep the focus on the girls and their growth and not the financial strain that travel basketball can put on your family.  We require that all families participate in fundraising in order to offset costs, such as uniforms, practice facility fees, tournaments and travel.
